The Supreme General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons

For the Southern and Western States of the United States of America and Its Domain​

In 1952, when the convention was held in New Orleans, LA At that time, the Supreme General Grand High Priest was David C. Craighead.

In 1954, The Supreme Convocation was held in Brooklyn, NY. Companion C.W. Mackey of New Orleans was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest. The record shows that we had four states with chapters: St. George of Chicago; Gibraltar of New Orleans; Wolverine Grand Chapter of Michigan; and Hiram of New jersey. At that meeting, Joppa Chapter #I of New York was given a charter.

In 1956, the Supreme Convocation was held in Chicago, lL.  Companion Winston Merriman was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest

In 1958, the Supreme Convocation was held in Detroit, MI.   Companion Carlos Johnson was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest

In 1960, the Supreme Convocation was held in Brooklyn, NY.   Companion Howard J. Willis was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest.

In 1960, the Supreme Convocation was held in Brooklyn, NY.   Companion Howard J. Willis was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest.

In 1962, the Supreme Convocation was held in Detroit, MI.   Companion Howard J. Willis remained in office.

In 1964 – Brooklyn, NY – Companion Willis, Companion Wilfred Heyward elected Supreme General Grand Secretary.

In 1965 – Newark, NJ – Companion Willis, Companion Heyward .

In 1966- Los Angeles, CA -Willis & Heyward .

On August 14, 1967 – Sao Antonio, TX. The Grand Masonic Congress met with T.J. Hawkins to plan a merger. Companion Willis and Heyward retained their offices. On December 11, 1967, the two congresses and subordinate departments meet in Washington, D.C. to continue tbe discussion of a merger.

In 1968- New York, NY. At the convocation, an agreement was made and the two bodies merged. The officers were:

In 1971 -Charlotte, NC- All officers retained their positions.

In 1972 – San Antonio, TX – Willis and Heyward remained in office.

At this convocation, the Grand Masonic Congress and the Federation of Masons Split. The Grand Masonic Congress agreed to have their meetings biannually on even year.

In 1974 – Los Angeles, CA – Willis, and Heyward remained in office.

In 1976 – Denver, CO – Willis and Heyward remained in office.

In 1978 – Phoenix, AZ – Willis, and Heyward remained in office.

In 1980 – Philadelphia, PA – Willis and Heyward remained in office.

In 1982Chicago, IL- Willis and Heyward remained in office.

In 1984 – Memphis, TN – Willis, and Heyward remained in office.

In 1986 – New York, NY – Willis and Heyward remained in office.

In 1988 – Little Rock, AR – Willis, and Heyward remained in office. During that year, Companion Willis passed. (After the convention).

In 1990 – New Orleans, LA- Companion Charles V. Anderson was Elected Supreme General Grand High Priest. Companion Heyward continues as Supreme General Grand Secretary..

In 1992- Chicago, IL – Anderson and Heyward remained in office.

In 1994 – Kansas City, MO – Anderson and Heyward remained in office.

In 1996 – Birmingham, AL – Companion Anderson remained in office. Companion Charles Alford Jr., was elected Supreme General Grand Secretary.

In 1998 – Cincinnati, OH – Companion Anderson remained in office.  Companion Heyward was elected Supreme General Grand Secretary.

In 2000 – Detroit, Ml – Companion Anderson remained in office. Companion Walter Mobley was elected Supreme General Grand Secretary .

In 2002 – Memphis, TN – Companion James L. Williams was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest. Companion Mobley remained in office.

In 2004 – Los Angeles, CA -Williams, and Mobley Were they remained until 2015.

In 2015 – Atlanta GA – Companion Michael A. Green Sr. was elected Supreme General Grand High Priest and Companion Stanley Simmons was elected Supreme General Grand Secretary.

In 2017- New Orleans LA – Companion Green and Simmons remained

In 2019 – Buffalo NY- Companion Green remained Supreme general Grand High Priest and Michael Haythorn was Elected Supreme General Secretary

It is understood that the general Purpose and intent of this Constitution is set forth, in the spirit, embodied in love, and uniformity, the methods and conditions of membership, to expose through prescribed  and regular assemblies, the veiled truth of the symbolic degrees, To the sincere eager and true searching representatives of the 12 tribes of Israel, desiring to be and having been exalted to the most sublime degree of Royal Arch and Capitular’s masonry, of the York rite system: and to fulfill our ambitions of charity, inculcated and adopted as a part of the total efforts, answer promote the highest form of orderly and peaceful relationship,among the several York Rite bodies of every state, for the mutual interest, of the supreme Royal arch Chapter and its members
